How to reach the centre? Dhamma Sobhana (Lyckebygården) is in central Sweden, approximately halfway between Stockholm and Göteborg (Gothenburg). The centre is 15 km from Ödeshög, 20 km from Vadstena, 25 km from Mjölby and 60 km from Linköping.
By car From Stockholm: Follow E4 past Mjölby. Turn off at Väderstad, exit 107. Turn right and drive until you reach a roundabout, where you take off towards Ödeshög. Turn right at the Rökstenen turnoff, and then immediately turn right again and follow the road signs to Lyckebygården. It's about 2,5 hours from Stockholm. From Göteborg: Follow road 40 to Jönköping, and then E4 north to Ödeshög. Take off there, and follow road 50 north in the direction of Vadstena/Örebro. Turn right after about 15 km, at Väversunda, and follow the road sign to Lyckebygården (another 3 km). Travel time is about 2,5 hours. From Malmö: Follow E6 north to Helsingborg, and then E4 north to Ödeshög. Take off there, and follow road 50 north in the direction of Vadstena/Örebro. Turn right after about 15 km, at Väversunda, and follow the road sign to Lyckebygården (another 3 km). Travel time is about 3,5 hours. From Oslo: First drive to Göteborg, and then continue as above. Travel time is about 6 hours.
By train Travel by train to Mjölby. From Stockholm it’s 2 hours with superfast express or 3-3½ hours with other trains; from Malmö it’s 2½ hours with superfast express or 3½-4½ hours with other trains. Continue south by regional bus number 664 or 665 to Ödeshög (Torget) (40-50 minutes). On the day a course begins, taxis are coordinated from there to the centre at 3:40 pm and 4:30 pm. By bus Stockholm: Swebus Express (www.swebusexpress.se) has daily connections from Stockholm to Ödeshög (Östgötaporten). You can also travel by Swebus Express to Mjölby, and there take a regional bus (see above) to Ödeshög (Torget). On the day a course begins, taxis are coordinated from Ödeshög to the centre at 3:40 pm and 4:30 pm (15 km). Travel time from Stockholm to Ödeshög (Östgötaporten) is 4 hours, longer via Mjölby. Göteborg or Malmö: Swebus Express has daily connections from Göteborg (3 hours), Borås (2 hours 15 minutes) or Malmö (5 hours) to Ödeshög (Östgötaporten). On the day a course begins, taxis are coordinated from there to the centre at 3:40 pm and 4:30 pm.
By air Stockholm Skavsta, near Nyköping (NYO): This is the nearest airport to the centre. Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) and Wizzair (www.wizzair.com) fly to Skavsta from several European cities. Take the airport bus (www.flygbussarna.se) to Linköping (1½ hours), and continue with regional train to Mjölby and on from there with regional bus to Ödeshög (Torget) (see above). Travel time from Linköping to Ödeshög is about 1 hour 15 minutes. Göteborg Landvetter: Good international connections. Take the airport bus (www.flygbussarna.se) to Borås central station, and continue from there to Ödeshög (Östgötaporten) by Swebus (see above). Travel time from the airport to Ödeshög is 3-4 hours. Stockholm Arlanda: Good international connections. Take the airport bus (www.flygbussarna.se) to Stockholm central station, and continue from there by bus or train to Ödeshög (see above). Travel time from the airport to Ödeshög is 5 hours by bus. With train it’s about 4 hours with superfast express or 5-6 hours with other trains. |
